I'm posting this in August - and I just can't believe it's already mid AUGUST! where has the time gone by. I can't believe that Natalie is already 6 months old, days away from sitting up on her own, eating solids, and an absolute JOY of my life!
I can't believe how different my life is now that I'm a mother. It is so different staying home and doing housework, dinners, and entertaining a baby all day long. As a teacher, I was so used to talking/discussing things all day, and this is just way different. But, I love it!
It's still a bit of an adjustment, not talking as much as I used to. I mean, I talk to Natalie, a lot... but there's not so much conversation going on :) She's absolutely adorable, and I love her smiles and laughs, her hugs, and kisses, and when she puts her arms up to be picked up.
Lately, she's been a little more attached to mommy. She still goes to daddy and to others, but at night, she seems to just want me to put her to bed... So, we're kind of putting our foot down, and having Logan and Nana put her down to bed more often than me. I still put her to bed for all her naps, but we're going out this Friday night (on a date!).... and she just needs to get used to me not being there. I'm sure she'll be fine, but the first time really leaving her for a few hours with a sitter is a bit nerve wracking!
She doesn't enjoy being on her tummy so much. When I lay her on her tummy, she immediately rolls to her back. Therefore, she's not getting a lot of time preparing to scoot or crawl, but I'm not worried... it will happen one day. She still LOVES her bath time, and any running water (from the faucet, fountains, etc).
I'm trying to find more and more activities to do with a 6 month old. She gets bored so quickly... and really likes to have me involved with her play. She'll play on her own for awhile, but then wants me to join. Which is fine - it's just hard to get things done sometimes.
I've worked out a cleaning schedule, and we'll see in the next few weeks if it works out. I'm going to get the sewing machine out soon, and I have a few projects I want to work on. I've realized, I really need to find more things to occupy MY time for ME. Some hobbies, etc. I've slacked a bit on my running - I was just wearing my body down. I'm guessing it was just too soon after having a baby/c-section. So, I'm not going to push it, but take it a lot slower now.
Logan is doing great in his job. He's been there for 4 1/2 months now... and excels at everything he does there. He's doing wonderfully with his Spanish (which I am so impressed with). Lately, he was given a new assignment, where he's out on the road 4 days of the week, and 1 day in the office. He does house checks, throughout the bay area. It's been great, because now he can bring the company car home, and NOT take BART, and his work time starts when he leaves, and when he gets home, so there's no extra commute time now - which means MORE time with us!!! yay!!! Natalie and I both love it.
On the weekends, he loves to spend time with us, especially Natalie. It's so cute to see her face light up when he gets home, or even when she hears his voice on the phone. I love it!
Natalie fell asleep in her swing, with her hand on her mouth... cute.
This is Natalie taking her first bite of solid food (very watery rice cereal). She loves being a big girl, eating with a spoon. So cute. She's eating a lot more veggies and fruit now.
This was after a VERY messy diaper (notice the stain on the changing pad)
Natalie loves to play in her exersaucer - one day I found her just staring at the swaying trees outside. She was in such a daze.
